Runic Overview
Base Rune of Power - Mystara
- Magical Item - Rare - Rune of Power
- Standard - This rune signifies energy or living creatures of Intelligence from 4 to 8.
- Unpowered Rune of Power (DC 12) - The item is considered to have the property of the rune for the purpose of target. Once per day you can make the encribed item glow for one minute buy touching the rune and making a check. To powers a Rune of Power, you need to touch it with a magical item made of the element or correct creature type, or use a cyrptologist's abilities. You can then make a secret craft check to activate the rune.
- Powered Rune of Power (Initiate/Tier 1/DC 14) - The rune glows with a dim red light, does not illuminate. Runes of matter with this property can as a bonus action to control the creature the item with the rune is touching. Affecting creature will follow commands and understand the holder of the item. They can also communicate back which is understood as well. This does not expends the power of the rune. The unpowered options can be used at will instead of daily.
- Powered Rune of Power (1st Circle/Tier 2/DC 16) - The rune glows with a dim red light, illuminating out to 5ft. As a bonus action you can control creatures of its type out to 30ft radius allow you to control several CR of creatures equal to or less than your character level. The expends the power of the rune. A practitioner of a related secret craft can use the rune assist with the check to activate, gaining a reroll to the roll, expending the rune.
- Powered Rune of Power (2nd Circle/Tier 3/DC 18) - The rune glows with a dim red light, illuminating out to 10ft. As a bonus action, the item can detect a creature of its type within its illumnation range, shining brighter in the direction of the creature and highlighting it if visible. The radius of controled creatures to 45ft. As a Reaction, you can control Energy of the runes type out to 45ft radius allowing you to reshape the energy, increasing (or decreasing) it by a dice, moving or reshaping the area of effect, lasting while concentrating or the enegy disappates, expending the runes power. A practitioner of a related secret craft can use the rune assist with the check to activate, gaining reroll to the roll, expending the rune.
- Powered Rune of Power (3rd Circle/Tier 4/DC 20) - The rune glows with a dim red light, illuminating out to 15ft. The radius of controled creatures or elements to 60ft. The energy effects can be changed by two dice. A practitioner of a related secret craft can use the rune assist with the check to activate, gaining a reroll bonus to the roll, expending the rune.
- Powered Rune of Power (4th Circle/Tier 5/DC 22) - The rune glows with a dim red light, illuminating out to 20ft. The radius of controled creatures or elements to 75ft. The energy effects can be changed by three dice. A practitioner of a related secret craft can use the rune assist with the check to activate, gaining reroll bonus to the roll, expending the rune.
- Powered Rune of Power (5th Circle/Tier 6/DC 24) - The rune glows with a dim red light, illuminating out to 25ft. The radius of controled creatures or elements to 90ft. The energy effects can be changed by four dice. A practitioner of a related secret craft can use the rune assist with the check to activate, gaining reroll bonus to the roll, expending the rune.
- Ritual - Rune of Power (Must have learnt the rune)
- Scribe Rune Power (2nd Circle/Tier 3/DC 18) - As an action you can scribe this rune on the surface of the creature or element it can affect. Then while concentrating you can control it if its a creature or reshape it.
- Scribe Rune of Power (3rd Circle/Tier 4/DC 20) - Taking ten minutes, you can scribe this rune onto a surface expending 12,000 gp worth of materials and it becomes a permanent rune.
- Scribe Rune of Power (3rd Circle/Tier 4/DC 20) - Taking a week, you can scribe this rune onto a living creature. Taking a Familiar, Mount, Companion or Follower and expending 24,000 gp worth of materials and they then have the rune as part of them. If you don not have the Familiar, Mount of Companion class feature, you gain it and take 1 Soul Burn per level while you retain them as a feature.
- Scribe Rune of Power (3rd Circle/Tier 4/DC 20) - Taking an hour, you can creature a scroll with this rune, which anyone can use that consumes the scroll upon use.
- Scribe Rune of Power (4th Circle/Tier 5/DC 22) - You can add this rune to an existing spell or spell effect to add its type to the effect. Such as making a wall of force into a psychic wall of force.
- Scribe Rune of Power (5th Circle/Tier 6/DC 24) - You can draw the rune of air into the air as if it was a surface, and use it like the magical item or other effect. You can draw it on an item or weapon as a fully powered rune.
